Why are we our own worst enemies sometimes when it comes to goals?
It’s You versus You.
We’ve all heard this before. That WE are the only thing standing in our way.
And it’s tough to admit that you’re the biggest roadblock to your success when you could blame it on things like not having enough time.
*cough* My least favorite excuse anyone could ever use. *cough*
I don’t love when people toss that one out, because we all know time is valuable!
But are you prioritizing your time to get where you want to be or to stay where you are?
Here’s some tough love.
Don’t let yourself down because you’ve ignored what you wanted.
At one point you dreamed big and then you decided that it wasn’t worth putting in the work or figuring out how to make it real. Why?
Honestly, why?
You let yourself block yourself from getting something that you wanted.
That feels like a lot of this –

So let’s stop blaming ourselves and recognize that the reason we didn’t do something BEFORE was because we let ourselves decide it wasn’t important enough to sacrifice some comfort for.
And maybe you’re thinking that so much time has gone by and it isn’t worth starting now?
To that I say –
The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the second best time is now.
(might be misquoted and definitely not my original quote, oops sorry)
So what is the bogus story you’re still buying?
I was listening to a BossBabe podcast the other day and the guest, Dean Graziosi, made this GREAT point:
There is a story that we’re selling to ourselves that is holding us back, and we need to let go of that old belief so it doesn’t continue to screw us over.
Caught me red-handed much?
I love goals, probably to a fault honestly, but I’d be lying to if you if I said there wasn’t a story I’ve been selling to myself of what I can and can’t do.
We’re all a work in progress and part of that progress is calling ourselves on the BS we tell ourselves.
And yes, there might be somethings that you were ~ realistic ~ about and took a step back from, but right now I’m talking about the wild goals that came from your pure lil heart.
What happened to those? Where did they go?
Don’t be your biggest roadblock in achieving something that you’ve wanted.
Give yourself a good sit down and think about what you want.
Is not getting what you want scarier than putting in the work to get that thing?
For me, the fear of not changing is worse than the fear of changing, which means I have to be courageous enough to make different decisions.
What decisions are you going to be courageous about?
