This is the absolute easiest way and most genius hack to making your personal development goals actually achievable!

When you sit down to write personal development goals – do you even know where to start?
Knowing how to set personal development goals isn’t really a matter of knowing exactly who you want to be in life. It’s more like focusing on certain aspects of your life intentionally so you can grow.
When it comes to your self development ideas, you won’t want to miss my #1 tip for success in your personal growth goals!
This post is all about personal development goals.
Personal Development Goals
When it comes to creating goals, the smaller the goal the more attainable it may seem. Naturally, this makes growth goals all the more daunting!
Yet, aren’t personal goals usually the stem of almost all other goals? Examples –
You might have a goal at work that stemmed from wanting to be successful or you might have a goal to own a specific branded handbag that stemmed from wanting a certain lifestyle.

When we think of making goals in this way, considering where they’ve stemmed from and why we want them, then we are able to hack into success.
The secret to creating personal development goals and achieving them is this –
You have to think and want to become the type of person that would honor the goal.
Confused yet?
So let’s dive into this, I’ll give you a peek into how this plays out in my life, and then you’ll know exactly how to implement it in yours!
My Example
I became went plant-based in 2021 and haven’t looked back.
Honestly, it’s one of the better decisions in my life and fits me well however, it wasn’t an overnight decision.
A couple of years prior, when I was first interested in a plant-based lifestyle, I had tried a “vegan week” after watching a documentary just to test it out.
The week went horribly.
I wasn’t prepared and didn’t do my research, I tried to wing it and all that came of it was hunger and disappointment. I had assumed that it wasn’t for me and thus didn’t try again until 2021.
Now the difference between then and now is my mindset.
I’ve also done more research on yummy recipes and creative ways to explore plant-based foods, and educated myself on why this decision aligns with my values.
(which are all good things to do when investing in a big personal goal)

And yet, the biggest reason I’ve been successful with sticking to it is my mindset and how I frame myself.
For example, I don’t think of myself as someone who wants to eat steak or someone committing to a temporary diet. I don’t think of myself as someone who claims certain values but lives a lifestyle that doesn’t support them.
I consider myself a person who is mindful of what she eats.
Simple as that, that is the one sentence that helped me and is still a continuous reminder.
Your Turn
So what is it you want? To look a certain way or achieve a certain financial milestone?
Whatever it may be, the surest way to find success in that goal is by changing your mindset.
Stop thinking of it just as another box to check off if you get there and start looking at your goals in terms of “who would achieve these?”.
If you’re saving money, consider yourself a person who is conscious and respectful of their financial goals.
Maybe you’re trying to lose weight/eat better/work out more, so be a person who cares about their health and wellness.
Or if you want to ditch the significant other or friend that doesn’t respect you, embody a person who values their worth and respects their boundaries.
Hopefully, you’re getting the picture but the most important thing you can do when working on your personal growth goals is to change your mindset.
Once you start thinking in terms of what type of person you’re becoming instead of what you’re temporarily doing, you completely change the game.
And don’t shy away from that person either!
People are going to question you along the way, whether they’re questioning why you’re doing it or how.
So own it and let them know that you’re just the type of person that cares about xyz – yes, they might be uncomfortable at first or not understand.
But if it’s the person you’re becoming then they should get used to it, right?
