New to the blogging world and completely overwhelmed? After a year of blogging, these blogging tips will save any beginner blogger from overwhelm!

If you’ve ever considered blogging but are intimidated at getting started, I’ve got your back.
Writing a blog can be incredibly rewarding and also extremely intimidating, especially when you’re not sure who will even read your blog besides your mom! However, blogging doesn’t have to be this scary thing, you can totally enjoy blogging and with these blogging tips, you’ll be on your way sooner than you thought!
This post is all about blogging tips.
After one year of blogging, I can safely say it’s totally different than I’d thought –
But definitely more attainable than I had assumed!
Let go of the assumption that you can write about whatever you want and embrace that there is a formula, however with it, you can reach more people than you had ever hoped.

As a beginner blogger…
When I first decided to have a blog, my main motivation was to write creatively since that’s one of my passions.
I didn’t know anything about SEO or marketing.
Let alone how to get people other than my mom to read my blog, but I wanted to give it an honest try.
Luvvie Ajayi Jones gave me my epiphany moment when she said in a podcast “if you write then you’re a writer”.
So I figured how hard could it be?
It’s just writing, right?
I could not have been more wrong.
From sitting down with my first blog post a year ago to now writing with intention, I have to say that with blogging there is definitely more than what meets the eye.
One of the first bloggers I started paying close attention to (and still enjoy today) is By Sophia Lee.
She’s achieved so much success from blogging and branding herself –
It’s hard not to be inspired by the world she’s created!
In fact, one year ago, I remember watching this video and thinking wow this girl has really got it figured out –
Since then, she’s only achieved more and more success, and truly hers should be a story of complete inspiration!
This brings me to…
Blogging Tips
The biggest lesson I learned from Sophia (and she may have learned from someone else) is:
Make it about the reader!
As a writer, you have to fight the urge to write about yourself.
You need to make everything about the reader and think about what will provide them value!
Until you gain your footing, no one really cares about your life.
And that’s okay.
Eventually, your readers will want to know more about you but for now, you need to focus completely on them!
Don’t be afraid to insert SEO literally everywhere.
You might think you’re overkilling it with SEO but you’d be surprised how much a blog post can handle.
Don’t think that because you’ve used your keyword once that now you’re all set.
Infuse every blog post and make it abundantly clear to the internet what you’re talking about.
Take full advantage of headers, the text, alt tags, images, etc. (that’s what it’s meant for)!
Be specific about your niche & don’t write about everything!
Nothing kills the success of a blog like being too broad.
Even when you think you’re being specific, take a deep breath and figure out how you could niche down even further.
The more a reader thinks wow, she is really talking to me! the better.
You want to attract all the right readers while simultaneously repelling the wrong readers.
This means you won’t be for everyone and you should embrace that.
It will make your work more meaningful for your target audience if you’re not trying to please all the guests.
And be a humble blogger.
Never forget that it takes so much time and effort to become a successful blogger.
I’ve only been blogging a year and while I’ve learned so much, I know I have so much more to learn as well.
Don’t expect immediate results and be willing to commit to the long game.
Successful bloggers stay consistent even when they don’t have instant gratification but if you’re willing to keep with it, then you will see the success you’re looking for.
